Games I Love (GIL in the title) is an article series about games I sincerely love. Inspired by numerous "best 100 games of all time" lists, I initially sought to cover 50 games, as it's a nice number.
I've been playing a great deal of Memoir '44 lately. It's one of my favorite games and one in which I've invested heavily. I own all but one minor expansion for it. Memoir '44 is a very simple rule set and foundation, but it's scenario driven and covers the broad scope of World War II.
Legends of Andor in play
I recently acquired Legends of Andor and after four plays it's really making me happy. The game is scenario driven and does some very intelligent things to add replay value, but also present a specific story in each scenario.
Lately I have been truly blessed to encounter a few new games that have just blown my mind. Each of them has contributed something to my enjoyment of games, but also, my thoughts as a designer.
It's not uncommon if you play games frequently to come across great ideas.
